AFTER ALL, YOU WILL ALWAYS COME BACK HOME

In a grey December afternoon I receive a news which lights my day like a ray of light. Our Lou will spend his fourth season in FIA F2 with a team for whom he’s not unknown: Charouz Racing System, with whom he raced back in 2018! He will be partnered by a driver with a famous surname, none other than Pedro Piquet, one of Nelson’s youngest sons and Nelsinho’s stepbrother!
Good luck to the boys for their 2020 season, hoping for Louis to get his first F2 win, a win he’s been chasing for years!

SWISS COMBOS, RAIN IN THE DESERT AND DOCTORS IN ENGLISH PHILOLOGY

Good Sunday evening! I’m sure you’re wondering about why I wrote such a weird title for this article… well, read it and you will have an answer.
Today our dear Lou made a new experience: he tested a LMP1 car during the WEC rookie test in Bahrain!
Louis is proud to be Swiss and the Rebellion car, named after a famous Swiss watchmaker, really suits him! Swiss watches are well-known for their precision, and Lou… had a very good time! On his Instagram profile he wrote: “WHAT A CAR!” When I was flicking through the pics he posted, firstly I thought I was seeing double. Then I realized everything was good with me. It was actually raining! It’s odd to see rain in Bahrain, isn’t it?

P. S.: Among the rookies attending this test there was also Kenta Yamashita, nicknamed YamaKen, or “Mr I-Don’t-Speak-English” for his astonishing ability in speaking Shakespeare’s language. My mum would like to see him as my boyfriend!

2019 POST-SEASONAL FIA F2 TESTING, DAY #3: TSAR NIKITA CLOSES THE CURTAINS

In a warm day of Abu Dhabi we crowned the new Tsar of Russia, Nikita Mazepin. He managed to beat his rivals Call(um) Me Maybe Ilott and our dear LouLou, who had quite an up-and-down day: in the morning completed 34 laps and finished 3rd with a time of 1:50.623, and in the afternoon put under his belt 38 laps and scored a time of 1:52.412 behind the young samurai Yuki Tsunoda.
So… what can I say about these testing days? Lou did his best and gave us a lot of happiness and satisfaction!
I don’t know what Lou will do next season; whatever he will do, whenever he will race, I will keep you updated about him thanks to this little space, which in a month will turn 2! I’m always grateful to you, my dear friends and readers, who helped me to believe in this project and to make it real.
P. S.: I’m thinking about what to post in these months without racing…

2019 POST-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY #2: LOU GIVES CHOCOLATE TO THE TSAR

Well done, sunshine” used to say Rob Smedley to Felipe Massa. And I feel like saying the same to my dear Lou, as there’s a very hot sun in Abu Dhabi and above all because today he was the fastest driver of the day just like yesterday. Sometimes I think he’s better in testing than in races…
In the morning our Swiss chocolate completed 39 laps and scored a time of 1:50.461; only the reigning FIA F3 champion, Robert Shwartzman, Tsar of All The Tracks, was able to be faster than him.
Then the afternoon came and, as he did yesterday, Lou managed to complete 44 laps, scoring a time of 1:50.124 and defeating Tsar Robert.
See you tomorrow for the last day! Will LouLou be the best driver of these testing days? Let’s cross our fingers and toes for him!

2019 POST-SEASONAL TESTING: DELÉTRAZ VS. SCHUMACHER? YES, BUT THEY’RE THEIR SONS!

Can you imagine the joy I felt when, while I was on the train on my way back home from university, my friend Valeria wrote me a message saying that Lou was the fastest driver of the day? I felt over the moon and I still feel so!
In the morning our hero completed 18 laps and ended with the 2nd time, 1:50.958; only the Young Kaiser was faster than him. In the 90s it was impossible to see Delétraz and Schumacher fighting together in Formula One, as Michael always was among the top positions and Jean-Denis was a backmarker. But now, thanks to their sons, we can see battles among drivers bearing these two big surnames.
In the afternoon he topped the group, with 49 laps under his belt and a whirlwind time of 1:50.543.
See you tomorrow for the 2nd day, in which I hope LouLou will keep pushing like today!

CYBER MONDAY WITH LOUIS

Today it’s the Cyber Monday, and I couldn’t have chosen a better day to show you this video that shows a virtual race between our dear Lou and Luca Salvadori.
Enjoy!

ROUND #12, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, SPRINT RACE: AN HAPPY ENDING FOR ITALY!

Good morning folks! Are you ready to review the very last race of the season?
Little Alesi started with a blast and jumped in front of the group. During the second lap Call(um) Me Maybe Ilott and Lou had a collision which went under investigation; however, they won’t be penalized.
Then Lou started to battle with his teammate Samurai Nobu, the Handsome Sergio and the Young Kaiser; the first two both overtook him and Schumi’s son failed to catch him.
Finally he succeeded to overtake Nobu! He ends the race in 6th position with a time of 1:57.941 to his name.
And the winner is… LUCA THE ITALIAN GOODFELLA! My Italian pride is over the moon, I couldn’t ask for a better way to end this season, and surely Luca couldn’t ask for a better way to end his F2 career! I’m wondering about the championship he will contest next year…
This was the last race review of 2019; in the next days I will write about post-seasonal testing, and I’m preparing a funny surprise for you too!

ROUND #12, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, FEATURE RACE: THE FIRST POSITIONS ARE THE PLACES TO BE

In the afternoon of the last day of November I’m following the last Feature Race of this FIA F2 season, a season marred by the tragic death of Anthoine Hubert. Today it’s been three months since that horrible late afternoon. However, we have to go on to honour his memory. And Lou started the race in the best possible way, taking the lead on the track of the country in which he’s loved most! Big applauses for Raghu too, who set the fastest lap! During Lap 4, Lou passed the leadership to Samurai Nobu, and started to have some troubles with his supersoft tyres.
After some scaramouches with Cossack Nikita and the new entry Christian Lundgaard, who by the way is the former boyfriend of the female racing driver Marta Garcia, Lou grabbed the 5th place.
Finally, Lou tried to overtake the Chinese Emperor Guan Yu Zhou to be able to climb the podium, but he failed and ended the race in 4th position with a time of 2:02.388. Samurai Nobu had to surrender to the attacks of the handsome Sergio, who won the race.
See you tomorrow for the final act! Have a good Saturday night!

ROUND #12, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, QUALIFICATIONS: THINGS ARE EASY WHEN YOU’RE BIG IN UAE

I write this article a bit late, as I was attending a premiation in the company my dad works for.
Lou opened the dances on the track, leading the group at the beginning of the qualifications. He remained steadily in the highest positions, fighting with Call(um) Me Maybe Ilott and the poleman-to-be, Sergio the Handsome Brazilian. He grabbed the 3rd position with a time of 1:49.931. He loves the Abu Dhabi Circuit, the people in the UAE love him and that helps him a lot. That gives me an assist to explain you why I choose that title for this article: it’s the adaptment of a sentence from the song “Big In Japan” by the German band Alphaville, “things are easy when you’re big in Japan”, in which I replaced Japan with UAE. Behind him there’s Samurai Nobu, recently nominated by Lou “the best teammate I’ve ever had
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #12, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, FREE PRACTICE: LOU, THE SHEIKH’S DRIVER

Ladies and gentlemen, this is my first blog post from my new iPad, as well as the last one of this FIA F2 season! Let’s review the Free Practice…
As you know, Lou is very popular in Middle Eastern countries, so the Abu Dhabi round is like an home round to him. He has such many fans there, and many of the readers of this little blog are from that region. And firstly he didn’t disappoint them: he began the session with a bang! Unfortunately for him and for his Middle Eastern fans, he got fooled by Mr Contact Lenses, who next year will be in F1 with Williams, and by the fresh champion Quick Nyck.
But luckily for him Lou is not a person who gives up easily and managed to go all the way up to the 5th place with a time of 1:52.156. A bit of apprehension for my friend Matos, who crashed; physically he’s okay, but his car needs repairs.
See you later for qualifications!

PEOPLE HELP THE PEOPLE

As I told you in the previous post, Louis took part in a cycling charity event named "Cycle With The Champions". Well, he cycled from Alba, in Piedmont, to Monaco, along with many other sportspeople, in order to help disabled children and their families to live a better life.
They raised… 1.100.000 €! I can't be happier, and above all prouder of Louis… he showed us for another time that he's a very generous person… he's the friend we all want to have!
P. S.: have you recognized the title I gave to this post? It's the title of a 2008 song by Cherry Ghost… do you remember it? When it was released I was attending the last year of elementary school… time flies!

domenica 13 ottobre 2019

LOUIS CYCLES WITH THE CHAMPIONS

Apart from being a talented racing driver, Louis is a very generous person. Along with his father, he's an ambassador of Porte Bonheur, a Swiss association which helps orphan children and teenagers to realize their dreams, and sometimes he attends charity kart races in order to pick up money for "L'Arche de Kira" an animal shelter for dogs and cats. In 2017 and 2019, he played in the Nazionale Piloti charity football match in Montecarlo.
This year, from October 18th to 20th, he will take part in a charity cycling competition named "Cycle With The Champions", and in these days he's raising funds for Caudwell Children, a British association which helps disabled children and their families both in daily life and in sport.
Good job, Louis! You never disappoint us, you are for sure one of the most generous racing drivers!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, SPRINT RACE: NOBU, YOU MAKE ME SCARED!

After an hard journey among crowded and delayed trains, I'm ready to review with you the Sprint Race…
There was a Cossack starting from pole position, Nikita Mazepin, who's more known for having punched Callum Ilott during the Budapest round of FIA F3 back in 2016 than for his career. But a terrible destiny was behind the corner… Cossack Nikita and Samurai Nobu had a terrible crash, from whom the first one emerged unscathed, but the Japanese Samurai couldn't exit from the car by himself, so he needed to be extricated. Nobu was taken to the local hospital; luckily he doesn't have fractures or injures of any type, but he will spend the night there. Let's cross our fingers for Lou's "snack mate"!
Goodfella Luca carried our Italian flag to the top, and it makes me smile. LouLou has been a bit naughty: he caused a collision and received a penalty of 10 seconds; he ended 14th with a time of 1:57.967.
For the next two months this silly little blog will take an hiatus from commenting races, as the next FIA F2 round, who will also be the last one for this season, will take place in the very last days of November. The 2019 F1, F2 and F3 championships will close their curtains on December 1st: as I was born on December 30th, I will have three anticipated birthday presents! If in these two months there will be some news about our Louis, I won't hesitate to write some posts about them. Maybe I will write some articles about some motorsport-related topics too, not only about Louis…
До свидания Россия!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, FEATURE RACE: I'M RIGHT WHEN I CALL HIM QUICK NYCK

Good afternoon people!
Quick Nyck started the Feature Race with a bang, and finally he made it to the title! He deserved it! LouLou had an interesting battle with the Chinese Emperor Guan Yu Zhou and the Young Kaiser Mick, being defeated by the young German; around Lap 8 he obtained the fastest lap and finally, after a marvellous overtaking to Luca the Italian Goodfella… HE ENDED 3RD! It's his first podium in a Feature Race, what a magic moment! And now for your joy and happiness, his time: 1:53.658.
Tomorrow morning I won't be able to follow the Sprint Race, as I'm going to attend an air show in Varenna with my parents; I will review it later in the afternoon.
Have a nice Saturday evening!

venerdì 27 settembre 2019

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, QUALIFICATIONS: TSAR QUICK NYCK

I'm back! Let's review the Qualifications!
Two Russian Tsars were named Nicholas, so it might be a sign of destiny that the best time in the Free Practice session was scored by Nicholas Latifi and that the Pole Position belongs to Quick Nyck…
Samurai Nobu was 6th for a while, but he ended 10th. LouLou qualified 7th with a time of 1:48.188.
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, FREE PRACTICE: CONTACT LENSES HAVE GOT THE POWER

Привет, Россия, as Basshunter sings!
There are two Cossacks on the track: Artëm Markelov for Arden, who races with number 22 as 19 has been retired by FIA to show respect towards Anthoine, and my friend Matevos Isaakyan for Charouz.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! RAGHU SCORE THE FIRST TIME OF THE MORNING! *Party hard mode on*
AND HE WAS FOLLOWED BY LOU!!!
Carlin was in the good mood today: Samurai Nobu was 4th and Lou was 5th!
The fastest time was conquered by Mr Contact Lenses, and Louis scored the 6th time: 1:49.775.
See you later for the Qualifications!

domenica 8 settembre 2019

ROUND #10, ITALY, SPRINT RACE: RACING FOR ANTHOINE, WINNING FOR ANTHOINE

The Sprint Race has been a bit luckier for Gigi, as he ended 8th with a time of 1:37.525. And the winner is one of Gigi's closest friends, Jack, the Almond-Shaped-Eyed Knight! As Anthoine was part of the Renault Drivers Academy just like Jack, I think he's going to dedicate his win to the young Frenchman.
Samurai Nobu ended 5th and Samurai Marino ended 11th.
See you in 18 days for the Russian round! Now enjoy the Formula One race!

sabato 7 settembre 2019

ROUND #10, ITALY, FEATURE RACE: ARIGATOU, MATSUSHITA-SAN!

Good afternoon folks!
The race began badly for Gigi, as he spun in the 2nd lap. He continued the race for 2 more laps, but during the 4th lap he retired. Don't worry, the Sprint Race of tomorrow will be better!
Last year Samurai Tada won the race, and I was head-over-heels! And this year Samurai Nobu's win made me happier after Gigi's spin. BANZAI!!! #NipponPower
Quick Nyck is 2nd and Luca the Italian Goodfella is 3rd. #ItalianPower
And… SERIOUSLY?!? AM I DREAMING OR AM I AWAKE?!? Raghu is 10th! #IndianPower
See you tomorrow morning!

venerdì 6 settembre 2019

ROUND #10, ITALY, QUALIFICATIONS: SO, CALL(UM) ME MAYBE!

Ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about the qualifications!
Both the Japanese samurais, Nobu and Marino, spun, and Tata Calderon caused a red flag as she crashed into the bareers.
Gigi qualified 10th with a time of 1:35.101, Nobu and Marino are respectively 6th and 15th. And the pole position goes to… Call(Me Maybe)um Ilott!
See you tomorrow afternoon for a thrilling Feature Race!

ROUND #10, ITALY, FREE PRACTICE: LUCA MAKES ME PROUD

Ciao a tutti! Welcome to Italy, the land of the sun… no, today there's no sun!
This weekend we will be #RacingForAnthoine, so we have to do our best to remember him. I also have to announce that Giuliano will take Ralph's place, as the car of Jean's son has been confiscated by Belgian authorities after the tragedy of Spa.
Like last year, our hero Louis will change his name to Gigi. Don't worry: for the next race I will bring him back his real name.
Gigi started from being 10th, then he went all the way up to the 2nd time and finally he scored the 3rd time, 1:33.298. The best time belongs to Luca the Italian Goodfella, and I'm so proud of him! Samurai Nobu is just behind Gigi, and Mari-kun, who's not related to Takuma Sato, is 15th.
See you later for qualifications!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ANTHOINE

Since my very first post you could understand that this is not a serious blog, it has an humoristic vein, I usually write comments to practices, qualifications and races in a funny way, I use hilarious words and I give pictoresque nicknames to the drivers. Well, this weekend I'm not able to do it. I can't do it, I don't feel like doing it.
This afternoon, while the Feature Race was underway, or I'd better say should have been underway, I was walking in Domaso with my parents. My dear friend Valeria, who I know from Instagram, wrote me a message saying that during the 2nd lap an horrible crash happened, involving Marino Sato, Juan Manuel Correa and Anthoine Hubert. Firstly I got scared about Marino Sato, who walked away from his car without injuries. The Hispano-American and the Frenchman had reported massive injuries, and the whole motorsport fandom was worried about them.
After a few hours, while I was in a restaurant having dinner, I saw a tweet with the news no one would have wanted to read. Anthoin Hubert passed away due to his injuries.
Motorsport is dangerous, I know it, I learned it as a child when I fell in love with this sport, beautiful and terrible at the same time, but when a driver or rider passes away, I always feel heartbroken, breathless and with no words.
My deepest condoleances go to Anthoine's family and friends, as well as to the other FIA F2 drivers and team managers.
R. I. P. Anthoine Hubert, 22/09/1996 - 31/08/2019

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, QUALIFICATIONS: RED FLAG, RED PASSION

As precise as a Swiss watch, like the ones Louis' uncles sell in their jewelery, here I am to tell you what happened in qualifications.
Call(Me Maybe)um Ilott and Gelée crashed and caused two red flags… the pole goes to Quick Nyck! LouLou is 5th with a time of 1:58.910 and Samurai Nobu is just in front of him.
Tomorrow I will post the article about the Feature Race later in the evening, as I'll be out all the day.

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, FREE PRACTICE: IRASSHIMASE, MARINO-KUN!

Bonne journée! Did you enjoy your summer break?
This weekend we are visiting Belgium, famous for fries and chocolate, two of my favourite foods ever! But we are not here for culinary tourism, we are here to follow the FIA F2 races on the legendary Spa circuit!
There's a new handsome samurai on the track: Marino Sato, born in 1999 in Yokohama, a driver I met in Monza two years ago! This season he's leading EuroFormulaOpen, but now he had the fantastic opportunity to race in F2 with Campos! I hope to meet him in Monza on October 13th…
The fastest lap in the free practice session is up to Quick Nyck, and our kitten LouLou is 3rd, with a time of 2:00.008. Nobu had a good start but unluckily fell to 10th position. Marino Sato struggled, as he ended 19th, but it was prevedible, as an absolut F2 novice.
See you in a few hours for qualifications!

lunedì 12 agosto 2019

ROUND #8, HUNGARY: WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE WEBMISTRESS' ABSENCE?

Good morning folks!
Yesterday I came back from my summer trip to Germany. It was fantastic, I visited Erfurt, Berlin and some Bavarian villages… however, now the trip is done and dusted, and it's time for me to come back to my blogger duties.
Where were we? Oh yeah, we were in Budapest, were the 8th round of the championship was held.
In the Feature Race, we saw the win of Mr. Contact Lenses, who literally dominated the race. Lou had a slow start and fell to the 8th position, before his engine blew up.
Talking about the Sprint Race, we saw the win of the Klein Kaiser, his first one in FIA F2.
See you in 17 days for the Belgian round! Have a great day!

domenica 14 luglio 2019

ROUND #7, GREAT BRITAIN, SPRINT RACE: ALMOST WINNER, ALMOND-SHAPED-EYED WINNER

WHAT A RACE!!! Our Swiss kitten took the lead when the race started. He made such a superb job, scoring tons of fastest laps and defending himself from the attacks of the Almond-Shaped-Eyed Knight and Quick Nyck.
Unfortunately, with 3 laps to go, the Almond-Shaped-Eyed Knight stole him the first position and won the race. Our kitten ended 2nd, with a time of 1:42.368, and Quick Nyck completes the podium.
You showed good things on the VickySilveStone Circuit, and I'm proud of you.
I'm not sure if I will be able to review the Budapest round, as in those days I will be on my way to Germany for my summer journey. I will tell you what I will decide to do.

sabato 13 luglio 2019

ROUND #7, GREAT BRITAIN, FEATURE RACE: FROM GOODFELLA TO KING

Good afternoon… wait, it's almost evening!
My Italian pride is touching the moon, Luca the Goodfella is the King of Silverstone! Italy is with you, Luca! We love you! He took the lead from the first corner and only Mr Contact Lenses tried to defeat him.
And Louis the Swiss Kitten…? He ended 7th, with a time of 1:42.029, and Nobu the Japanese Samurai is 9th.
See you tomorrow with the Sprint Race!

THE SWISS LION IS BACK ON TRACK!

Yesterday I told you about a surprise… here it is!

As you know, Louis inherited his passion for motor racing from his dad, Jean-Denis Delétraz, who had a short F1 career and a successful one in GT and Endurance races. He attended the 24 Hours of Le Mans for several times and in 2008 he won the Spa 24 Hours too.
Nowadays, he sometimes races with old F1 cars. This time, in Silverstone, he raced with the yellow ATS D4, with whom his compatriot Marc Surer raced in the 80's. He ended 3rd, I hope he enjoyed his race!
See you later for his son's Feature Race!

venerdì 12 luglio 2019

ROUND #7, GREAT BRITAIN, QUALIFICATIONS: ASIAN POWER

Good afternoon friends!
In the Qualifications, Louis the Swiss Kitten was the first driver to hit the track… and ended in 5th position with a time of 1:38.547! Good job, Swiss Kitten!
The pole position belongs to Guan Yu Zhou, the Chinese Emperor! I'm happy for him, as he's one of my favourite drivers. I met him in Monza two years ago, he was so nice and kind.
Tomorrow there will be a surprise for everybody. I give you a little clue: a yellow blast from the past. Any guesses?

ROUND #7, GREAT BRITAIN, FREE PRACTICE: ITALY HAS GOT THE POWER

Good afternoon! We're ready to race in my personal circuit, named VickySilveStone!
The free practice session doesn't start in the best way for our Louis, as he collided with Sean the Indonesian tiger, causing a yellow flag; the incident is currently under investigation.
Luca the Italian Goodfella scored the best time. #ItalianPower
Louis' time is 1:40.034, Samurai Nobu is behind him.
See you later for Qualifications!

domenica 30 giugno 2019

ROUND #6, AUSTRIA, SPRINT RACE: LOUIS GOES BANG BANG TOO

Guten Morgen!
In the first laps of the race we had the pleasure to see breathtaking battles among LouLou, Quick Nyck, le Beau Serge and King Jordan I. LouLou leaded the race for a while too!
9 laps before the end… DISASTER!!! Our little hero crashed heavily his Carlin, luckily he emerged without injuries. What a pity!
Don't worry, Louie! You're still my hero. I'm sure that in Silverstone you will have a better luck.
See you in two weeks!

sabato 29 giugno 2019

ROUND #6, AUSTRIA, FEATURE RACE: #NIPPONPOWER IS ALL WHAT YOU NEED

The Feature Race started with a bang. King Jordan I climbed all the way up to 10th position and Samurai Nobu started to chase Roi Antoine. LouLou made a little step up from 8th to 7th.
But… LOU, LOU, WHAT DID YOU DO?!? You went through the pitlane too fast and now they gave you a penalty of 5s! I won't cook you dinner this evening…
In the last laps Quick Nyck got fooled by… Samurai Nobu, who won the race! BANZAI!!! #NipponPower
And Louis ended 7th with a time of 1:19.732, so he will start from 2nd position tomorrow. Before the Sprint Race, let me enjoy the beauty of #NipponPower!

venerdì 28 giugno 2019

ROUND #6, AUSTRIA, QUALIFICATIONS: QUICK NYCK EATS UP EVERYBODY

Hello guys, I'm back!
I hoped Louis would score the pole position… but he qualified 8th with a time of 1:14.625! The pole position belongs to Quick Nyck, who this season is a sort of cannibal. By the way, the title of this post is inspired by the song "Cannibal" by Ke$ha. And Samurai Nobu is 4th…
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #6, AUSTRIA, FREE PRACTICE: A SWISS WATCH ON THE TRACK

Wilkommen!
Before starting with the review of this Free Practice session, I have to announce you some changes in the drivers' lineup: Raghu has been excluded from this event and his place was taken by Patricio O'Ward, Dorian Gray Boccolacci gave Arjun Maini his Campos' seat and Ryan Tveter takes Ralphy's place at Trident.
Our cutie pie Louie was the star of the session, nobody could stop him! In these years he wasn't so lucky in FIA F2… but today he had his revanche. Many people pointed their fingers against him, saying he was in FIA F2 just because he's son of Jean-Denis… but in this session he showed his talent and consistence! He did such a perfect job, scoring a beautiful time of 1:14:782.
See you later for the qualifications!

domenica 23 giugno 2019

ROUND #5, FRANCE, SPRINT RACE: ANTOINE LE ROI

Antoine Hubert c'est le nouveau roi de France!
For the first time a French driver won a F2 race in his homecountry. He did a marvellous job, starting from pole position and dominating the race.
Mon petit garçon Louis was a bit more lucky, he ended 7th with a time of 1:46.944; two positions later there is Nobu-san.
See you in 5 days for the Austrian round! À bientôt, mes amis!

sabato 22 giugno 2019

ROUND #5, FRANCE, FEATURE RACE: DEMOLITION DERBY

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
France has a long tradition of bandes dessinées, so I start this article with "sounds". Yes, because the race started with four accidents involving the Young Kaiser, the Indonesian Tiger, Dorian Gray Boccolacci and the Other Swiss, so it was red-flagged.
At Lap 18, our little cute Louis started to lose speed due to a problem on his car, and then he retired from the race.
And the winner is… QUICK NYCK! With this win he becomes the championship leader.

Louie didn't have a good time, as he damaged his rear wing in a collision with Giuliano Alesi, his neighbour, and he ended 12th with a time of 1:44.025.
The pole position belongs to "le Beau Serge".
On se verra demain pour la premiére course! Je v'embrasse!

ROUND #5, FRANCE, FREE PRACTICE: LE BEAU SERGE

Salut à tous! Bienvenus au Paul Ricard, vive la France et vive Louis!
Yes, Louis was the quickest at the beginning of the session, and had the satisfaction, along with Quick Nyck, of have a battle against Luca the Italian Goodfella.
The half-blooded Dutch driver leaded the session for a long time, but in the end the handsome Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara stole the lead from him… in the meantime he almost touched Nobu the Japanese Samurai.
1:45.134: this is the time scored by Louis, who ended 11th, behind his Samurai.
À bientôt!

sabato 25 maggio 2019

ROUND #4, MONACO, SPRINT RACE: PURE EMOTIONS

No words to describe my emotions! Well… but if I really had no words I couldn't have written this article!
Knight Louis fought with Antoine Hubert, a French driver who has Louis' third name as his surname, and the young and handsome Chinese Guan Yu Zhou. They were separated by less than a second! That's why I love motorsport: every detail counts and might do the difference! Lou couldn't find the speed to overtake Antoine, but he ended on the podium! I'm so proud of you, baby! As I'm used to, I write you his time: 1:26.694.
Au revoir!

venerdì 24 maggio 2019

ROUND #4, MONACO, FEATURE RACE: 2019 ODYSSEY ON THE TRACK

What a race! The start was aborted, so our heroes had to do another formation lap…
After 20 laps, the younger Kaiser, Miss Tatiana and our little soft kitty Louis, during a battle on the track, collided and caused a yellow flag, which then turned into a red flag.
When the race was restarted, Louis fought with Juanito Manuelito and tried to overtake him, but the Russian Cossack Artëm, who took Jordy's place only for this race due to the Englishman's Indianapolis commitments, defeated Lou.
Samurai Nobu setted the fastest lap, and Jack the Almond-Shaped-Eyed Prince Charming was sent to the wall by Raghu.
Quick Nyck took the win, followed by my compatriot Luca and… by Samurai Nobu! #NipponPower LouLou ended 8th with a time of 1:26.106.
Wait… DID HE ENDED 8TH?!? YES, YES! It means that tomorrow LouLou will start FROM POLE POSITION! YAHOO! I hope he won't get penalized…

giovedì 23 maggio 2019

ROUND #4, MONACO, QUALIFICATIONS: FROM A TO B

Let's see what happened during qualifications…
The best driver in the Group A was Callum (Me Maybe) Ilott, and the best in the second group was Quick Nyck, who obtained the pole position too.
Mon petit LouLou ended 5th in his group, scoring a time of 1:21.936. Seems like he's getting used to street circuits… and Nobu ended 5th too, but in Group B.
See you tomorrow for Race 1!

ROUND #4, MONACO, FREE PRACTICE: WHAT A SURPRISE!

Salut à tous! Bienvenue à Monaco, la ville la plus glamour du monde!
If you know Louis and if you've been reading this blog since its inception and beginning you know that Louis is not an ace on street circuits, but in the Monaco Free Practice he ended 8th, scoring a time of 1:22.980! Unluckily, Samurai Nobu was not as lucky as him… he ended 18th.
As you know, when F2 arrives to Monaco there are two groups for qualifications. Louis, having an odd number on his car, is in the Group A, while Nobu, who has an even number, will attend the qualifications in the Group B.
See you this afternoon!

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE A ROYAL BLOODLINE TO BE A PRINCE

This morning I woke up with a very sad news: the legendary Niki Lauda, aged 70, passed away due to kidney problems. I send my condoleances to the Lauda family.

This evening at the Louis II Stadium, in Monaco, like every year, the Nazionale Piloti charity match was held. There were many drivers who race in F1, F2, GTs… some names? The local hero, the Prince Charles Leclerc, the French Pokémon Pierre Gasly, Sir Lando, Quick Nyck, Carlitos El Matador, various Italian Goodfellas such as LuckyLuca Ghiotto and Ricky Agostini… and, above all… Louis Charles Hubert Delétraz, known also as LouLou, Lulino, Lulippo, Lupello, Lulello, Luppolo, or simply Lou. And the stadium has his same name, too!
The match was won by the Monaco Star Team, whose captain is Prince Albert II. However, the real Prince of the match was Charles, who was crowned as the best player!

ROUND #3, SPAIN, SPRINT RACE: QUICK (TIME) NYCK

After an amazing Sunday spent in Monza, a day filled with racing, emotions, fun and meetings, let's review the F2 Sprint Race.
Quick Nyck took the win, followed by Goodfella Luca and Call(um) Me Maybe Ilott. There was again bad luck for LouLou, who ended 11th with a time of 1:33.227.
Samurai Nobu's car took fire, but he didn't take a fire extinguisher to quench the flames by himself as his compatriot Taki Inoue did back in 1995.
See you in 10 days for the races who will take place in Leclerc's living room!

P. S.: Today in Monza I met Andrea Piccini, JDD's former teammate as well as Louis' manager. I'm so happy I met him after chatting on Instagram, and he was happy too!

ROUND #3, SPAIN, FEATURE RACE: DAYS OF THUNDER, DAYS OF SPARK

Today was a day of thunder. No, I'm not talking about the 1990 movie starring my beloved Tom Cruise! Here in my hometown there was a terrible thunderstorm while I was watching the F2 Feature Race and I was very scared… but now the situation is improving.
Mr Contact Lenses won again, followed by two almond-shaped eyed beauties, Jack and Guan Yu Zhou.
Freckles-it-Ralph leaded the race for some laps, but he "kissed" Samurai Nobu's wheels.
And Louis…? He ended only 12th with a time of 1:37.196.
As many of you might know, tomorrow I will be attending ELMS in Monza, so I will write the Sprint Race review in the evening.

ROUND #3, SPAIN, QUALIFICATIONS: 14 IS MY NUMBER

The number 14 has been "persecuting" me since I was a child. When I was attending elementary school, it was my number on the school register. When I was 14, I went through experiences that made me understand what my heart was beating for.
And the 14th position is the one from which Lou will start in the Feature Race. 1:28.869: this is his time. On Instagram he wrote that during the Free Practice his car had electronical issues.
I make a bow to Luca the Goodfella, who will start from pole position.
See you tomorrow!

ROUND #3, SPAIN, FREE PRACTICE: LUCA EL MATADOR

¡Bienvenidos en Barcelona, where art, culture, fun, movida and good weather mix themselves giving birth to a fascinating cocktail!
But this is not a travel blog, we are here to review the Free Practice Session of the Second Round of this exciting FIA F2 season.
Unfortunately our Louis didn't start his weekend in a good way: he scored the 16th time of 1:31.060. He will improve in qualifications, I'm sure of this.
The nice Hispano-America Juan-Manuel Correa spun off track on turn 16, causing a red flag, and the Russian Cossack Nikita and the Japanese Samurai Nobu-kun went under investigation. My Italian pride arose for another time, as Luca the Goodfella was the fastest of the session. I'm also happy for my friend Guan Yu Zhou, who did it to the 4th position.
See you in 2 hours for the Qualifications!

ROUND #2, AZERBAIJAN, SPRINT RACE: WHEN THE WINNER WEARS CONTACT LENSES…

I spent a wonderful morning by the lake, admiring many cars exponed on the promenade… but we're here to talk about the F2 Sprint Race, the 50th one of FIA F2!
I'm sorry for my dear Louis, who was forced to retire due to a contact with his compatriot Ralph. Don't worry, Louis. In 11 days you will race in Barcelona, a track you know very well and in which you always had good results.
Mr Contact Lenses won the race, followed by Juan Manuel Correa, who said on the radio: "Champagne, baby, champagne!" It was such an epic moment.
See you in Barcelona!

ROUND #2, AZERBAIJAN, FEATURE RACE: FROM A JACK TO A KING

My mum is a die-hard Elvis Presley fan, so when the Almond-Shaped Eyed Prince Charming Jack took the win of this crazy Feature Race I got the idea to title this post after an Elvis' song. Quick Nyck is the runner-up, and the "Third Man" is Jordan King… so, the podium is really "From a Jack to a King"!
Knight Louis was very unlucky, after struggling out of the points he had a contact with Dorian Gray Boccolacci and retired from the race.  Samurai Nobu had a sad fate too, he started from pole position and ended last.
Cheer up, boys!

ROUND #2, AZERBAIJAN, QUALIFICATIONS: MY SAMURAI KNOWS HOW TO MAKE ME HAPPY

"There's a love in me raging, alegrìa, a joyous, magical feeling…"

This song by the Cirque du Soleil recalls me of when I was attending my modern dance lessons and I had the dream of becoming a "velina" in the Italian TV show "Striscia la Notizia". But today in the end of these qualifications I felt that "joyous, magical feeling" in my heart and mind. Yes, because Samurai Nobu grabbed the pole position, stealing it from Quick Nyck!
Mr KFC caused a yellow and a red flag due to his mistakes, so the session was stopped.
LouLou didn't have so much luck, as he qualified 12th with a time of 1:56.326.
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #2, AZERBAIJAN, FREE PRACTICE: ITALIANS (AND JAPANESES!) DO IT BETTER

In Baku there are 17ºC, and here in Abbadia the weather is rainy. But you can't have everything from life, so let's start with the commentary of the free practice session.
First of all, Niki Mazepin was the first driver to make a mistake, and his arch enemy Callum Ilott caused a yellow flag. If you remember, back in 2016, when they were in FIA F3, Niki punched Callum due to a collision on the racetrack.
The most interesting part of this session was the fight between the Italian Goodfella Luca and the Japanese Samurai Nobu, which saw the win of my compatriot. #ItalianPride
But I could have been happy even with the win of the Samurai. #ILoveJapan
And Louis? Our Knight Louis? As you know, city circuits are not the ones on which he can be at his best, so he ended 12th with a time of 1:58.685. See you in 3 hours for the qualifications!

Fun fact: last Monday I visited my paternal grandma, and for the first time she made a comment about the physical aspect of a racing driver. She saw Mick Schumacher on TV; in her opinion, he's good looking!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LOUIS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Today it's a special day for our Louis: it's his birthday, he turns 22!
Louis, I hope you will have a good day with your family and friends. I will always support you both as a driver and as a person. You deserve all the best.
Keep on fighting, but only on the track. Be always loyal and kind, even with your enemies. I love you. We love you.

ROUND #1, BAHRAIN, SPRINT RACE: ITALIAN POWER IS THE WAY

After some troubles with the FIA F2 official website which was out of order, I finally managed to follow the Sprint Race.
As a proud Italian, I'm happy that Goodfella Luca won the race, and behind him there are Sergio the Handsome and Mr Contact Lenses.
Knight Louis had some troubles at the start, he had a collision with Quick Nyck and the Prince Charming with Almond-Shaped Eyes; this made them lose positions. However, my little Swiss chocolate ended 5th with a time of 1:55.102.
So… the first round of this season is done and dusted. The next one will be in Baku in 25 days. I'm looking forward to it!

ROUND #1, BAHRAIN, FEATURE RACE: THE CONTACT LENSES RISE

The FIA F2 season finally had its first race. It started with a "bang", as Knight Louis took the lead soon after the race began because of technical problems on the Italian Goodfella's car. But after 9 laps Mr Contact Lenses defeated the Swiss Knight. Since then, our hero's race was a loopy "up & down" among the Top 10, with also an interesting fight against his teammate, Nobu the Great Samurai, and heroic attempts by Quick Nyck to chase and overtake LouLou.
In the end, Mr Contact Lenses took the win, followed by the Goodfella and Sergio the Handsome. Our little Swiss chocolate ended 5th with a time of 1:54.623. Big news: tomorrow the Kaiser's son will start from pole position!
See you tomorrow!

ROUND #1, BAHRAIN, QUALIFICATIONS: 100 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER

O. M. G.!!!
For the first time, ladies and gentlemen… LOULOU WILL START FROM THE FRONT ROW! Yes, he qualified 2nd with a time of 1:40.871! In front of him, as the sun does in the famous Neapolitan song "O Sole Mio", there is an Italian goodfella, Luca Ghiotto, who I personally met in Monza back in 2013, when he was racing in the now-defunct Formula Renault 2.0 Alps. Behind Knight Louis there is Quick Nyck. Jack the Anglo-Korean is 5th, and he's followed by Louis' personal samurai, Nobuharu Matsushita. Miss Tatiana and Raghu are still in the last positions.
I'm sure there will be an epic race tomorrow. The season couldn't have a better start… are you itching to follow is tomorrow?

P. S.: In case you're wondering why I named this post "100 Is The Magic Number", I can explain you why: this is the 100th post on "Louis The Swiss Star". Thank you for supporting me, believing in me and cheering me up. Without you I would have never arrived there.

ROUND #1, BAHRAIN, FREE PRACTICE: WE START WITH SAMBA!

Good morning! Are you ready to get into the first round of this new season?
Let's see what happened in the free practice session. Let's start from the main character of this adventure, our young knight Louis: he had some problems at the beginning of the session, in Sector 2 he slowed down and stopped. He went back to the pits and Carlin is currently investigating about the issue. I hope it won't influence Louis' weekend. He ended 8th, scoring a time of 1:44.375.
The best driver of the session was the handsome Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara. The Prince Charming with almond-shaped eyes, Jack Aitken, caused a yellow flag due to a spin in Turn 7. As the Young Kaiser was only 12th, we can say that Delétraz is faster than Schumacher! I wonder what Murray Walker would say about it…
In the last two positions we have two of my favourites: Miss Tatiana and Raghu.
So, that's all for the free practice session! This afternoon I'll be back for qualifications.

OH, SIM DRIVER, MY SIM DRIVER!

And finally, the official announce came out. However, it was in the air.
What am I talking about?
Yes, Louis will be the simulator driver for Haas and he's so happy about it! As I told you in some previous articles, Haas is Romain Grosjean's team. RoGro is Lou's tutor and I'm sure he will give him some precious tips.
This year Haas has a new coloration, black and gold, which reminds the old Lotus and the 2011-2015 Lotus Renault! Surely our hero will look handsome with the team outfit.

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 6: NYCK IS THE ONE!

Nyck is definitely the man to beat this season! Yes, he ended on the top again. I bet we will se amazing fights between Knight Louis and him. By the way, our little Swiss chocolate ended 3rd in the morning, with a time of 1:27.421. But then, a few hours later, the "Maledition of the Afternoon" struck again: he scored a time of 1:34.784, ending 12th.
So, the 2019 pre-seasonal testing days are now done and dusted. Everything is said and done. Or, to say it in French, as Lou would do, "les jeux sont faits". Now it's time to switch to the real racing, the real competition. Personally I can't wait to review this season with you here on my blog.
See you in a few weeks for the Bahrain round!

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 5: BRASIL, LALALALALALALALA!

A dancing-samba Vicky welcomes you to the review of this second day of testing in Barça. First of all, why am I dancing samba? Yes, Sergio Sette Camara, my grandma's celebrity crush, topped the chart, and I'm not talking about the release a new Brazilian song! However, let's sing all together… *BRASIL, LALALALALALALALA!*
Knight Louis did a good job in both morning and afternoon sessions, scoring a time of 1:27.620 in the morning and of 1:29.841 in the afternoon. He showed us that he can make it to the light when he's tired too! I'm so proud of him and I hope that he will end the testing days with a bang. See you tomorrow for the last pre-seasonal blast.

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 4: HIT ME NYCK ONE MORE TIME!

¡Hola! After the testing days in Jerez, the F2 heroes are now committed in three more days of testing in Barcelona. Nyck made it to the top again, he "hit the classification one more time", as Britney Spears would sing.
And Knight Louis...? Well, in the morning he did a good job, as he ended 3rd with a time of 1:28.875. But seems like that in the afternoon struggles a bit more, I could see it many times. In fact his afternoon time was 1:34.850. Maybe it's because in the afternoon you're more tired…
Tomorrow I will review the second day, I hope Louis will stay strong…

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 3: THE KNIGHT VS. THE PRINCE

The last day of testing gave us an huge surprise. Yes, Mick Schumacher ended the day on the top of the classification! "Quick Mick" for another time is showing us that he's not only "Michael's son", but he's showing us that he's a good, fast driver. Obviously there will always be somebody who will compare him to his legendary father. In the morning our heroes, the Swiss Knight Louis and the Almond-Shaped Eyed Prince Charming Jack, had an epic battle with the Kaiser's son, an epic battle which ended with Jack 2nd and Louis 3rd; Louis' time was 1:24.247.
In the afternoon, Louis ended 4th with a time of 1:27.880.
And that's it. The first session of testing of the 2019 season is done and dusted. The next one, as well as the last one before the beginning of the season, is scheduled to be in Barcelona on 5-6-7 March. I will be there to write articles about it, of course.
Kisses! Or better, besitos!

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 2: BITTERSWEET DAY

¡Hola amigos! Vicky is back and will tell you about the second day of testing.
Nyck topped the chart again in the morning, making me sure that he's the man to watch this season, while our soft kitty Lou ended in 4th position with a time of 1:24.803 after an epic battle against Mick Schumacher, the Kaiser's son. My Italian fellow Luca Ghiotto improved throughout the session, ending with a time close to Nyck's one.
In the afternoon, the classification was topped by Dorian Boccolacci, followed by another French-Italian driver, Giuliano Alesi! Louis had some troubles and ended 16th with a time of 1:29.597. Keep on fighting, baby.
See you tomorrow for the last day of testing!

2019 PRE-SEASONAL TESTING, DAY 1: A PAGE OF HISTORY HAS BEEN WRITTEN

Hola, companeros! Here it's your dear Vicky! In these days I will review with you the pre-seasonal tests which are underway in Jerez.
After the winter hiatus, the drivers are happy to be back on the track, and among them there is obviously our hero, Louis Charles Hubert Delétraz! Before starting with the summary of what happened today, I'm glad to say that Tatiana Calderon wrote a little page of history: the Colombian is the first woman to race in FIA F2 since its inception back in 2005, when it was still named GP2 Series.
Under a warm Spanish sun, Nyck de Vries scored the best time in both the sessions, and our Knight Louis for a while in the morning topped the classification with a time of 1:26.217. In the afternoon, the Swiss ace was the first to be back to the track, and ended in 6th position with a time of 1:26.512.
Among the rookies there is another of my favourite drivers: he's none other than Giuliano Ryu Alesi, the half-blooded son of Jean Alesi. By the way... does somebody know that "Jean Alesi" is a nom de plume? His real name is Giovanni Roberto Alesi, I discovered it when I was 12 and I was shocked!
See you tomorrow for the second day of testing! Hasta la vista!

BECAUSE INSTAGRAM STORIES ARE A GOLD MINE

Good morning petrolheads! The winter session of university exams is over, so now I have some time to write again about my little sweet Louis...
Yesterday Louis posted an Instagram story from which I saw that he was going to London. Today I saw from another story that he made his seat for the 2019 FIA F2 season! As I told you, he will race with Carlin, one of the most famous and successful teams in junior formulæ. And as a Japan lover, I'm so happy to see that his teammate will be Nobuharu Matsushita, who comes back to Europe after a season in Super Formula!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BLOG!

Bonjour à tous! Comment ça va?
*Okay, okay, I switch to English now...*
Today is an important birthday. Not the one of a person, but the one of this blog. When I opened it I didn't expect that it would have turned out to be so successful. And now, after one year of activity, I can say that I'm more than satisfied!
In this year I had more than 2400 views from tons of different countries, and it's fantastic to know that drivers and motorsport figures visited it too. But the most important thing is that I had the honour to be interviewed by Anna Mangione for her "Wheels&Heels" project dedicated to women who do something for motorsport, and I want to thank Anna again.
I'm blessed to have a family and friends who cheer me up and push me to do my best. I want to thank you all, parents, relatives, Instagram friends, university mates and all my friends.
Above all I want to thank Louis, without whom this blog would have never existed. I wish you all the best for 2019 and your future career.
This year there will be a new race review format. Stay tuned to find out more!

LOUIS IS BLUE, DA BA DEE DA BA DA!

Welcome to the first post of 2019! Is there a better way to start a new year than an amazing news?
Louis will compete in FIA F2 for the third consecutive year, and he will do it with Carlin, the team with whom he tested in Abu Dhabi a few days after the end of the season.
After many red cars and suits it's time for a bit of blue, as it's the social colour of Carlin. It will suit him, and according to my mother blue makes you appear slimmer.
All I have to do is to end this article with a phrase from one of the songs I love most... "I'm blue, da ba dee da ba da, da ba dee da ba da..." You know, I adore Gabry Ponte and the Eiffel 65... and I love to mix motorsport and music.

P. S.: Tomorrow this adorable little blog will celebrate its first year of activity. Stay tuned for a great surprise!
