AMERICAN VIBES FOR LOU

At this point of the year in Europe you can see snow and feel freezing, but not in Florida: this is the period of the year where many Americans spend holidays in the Sunshine State. But Florida is also the home of the famous Daytona Speedway… so, what does it has to do with Lou? Yes, you understood well: Lou spent two days of testing in Daytona and, according to his latest Instagram post, he’s already in love with American racing! I hope this experience will give him opportunities for his bright future in this fantastic sport.

THE RACING EXPERIENCE

As we know, this is not a period in which racing drivers are very active on tracks. And Lou himself is taking a break, as his ELMS season is now done and dusted. But this doesn’t mean that he’s not thinking about racing; at least 10 days ago, he attended the new simulator center The Racing Experience in Lausanne, in his native Switzerland. He was very enthusiastic and satisfied about the experience and recommends it to everyone.

4 HOURS OF PORTIMÃO - GRAND FINALE

Finally, this breathtaking and exciting ELMS season came to a close… and Lou, Robert and Yifei ended it with a fantastic P2! But let’s start from the beginning… Robert had a good start, in which he overtook two cars! Then they navigated between P6 and P3, until in the end they conquered P2. I’m really happy about their fantastic season, during which all the three WRT drivers as well as the employees of the team made big efforts to make a fantastic job. 

So, what about next year? I can’t wait for other fantastic surprises, and obviously I will tell you about on this little virtual space!

2021 LE MANS VIRTUAL SERIES - 4 HOURS OF MONZA - GIMME FIVE!

The 4 Hours of Monza is here… but not in *real* Monza, in its virtual counterpart, as it’s the first round of 2021 Le Mans Virtual Series 😜 Lou is in force with the Rebellion team by the side of Kuba Brzezinski and Nikodem Wisniewski… they ended P5! Not a bad result… Talking about other drivers, Alister Yoong, Alex’s son, ended P14 due to a collision with a LMP2 car.

SPA 6 HOURS - LOU GRADUATED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MOTORSPORT

Good evening! How did you spend your Sunday? 😉 

I’m really proud to say that my lil’ darling Lou, after starting the race from P3, won the Spa 6 Hours and was crowned European Le Mans Series Champion for 2021! Congratulations, Lou, you did it well, you committed yourself very seriously and you showed your talent and your real skills as a racing driver, the ones that you cannot show in F2 due to unlucky circumstances; you really deserve this title! And in Spa it has even more special taste… Obviously my congratulations go to Robert and Ye too ☺️

And now…? What will happen…? Stay tuned!

2021 24 HOURS OF LE MANS - GANBARE KAMUI!

Ladies and gentlemen, this was the weekend of the most important race of the world, and maybe one of my favourites! Let me introduce… the 24 Hours of Le Mans, or, if you prefer French language, 24 Heures du Mans!

The WRT crew was still composed by Lou, Robert Kubica and Ye Yifei; they started P2 and for almost all the race they floated between the first 10 places. Between the 6th and the 7th hour, Lou was even P1!!!

But then, disaster struck. Lou and his mates had a big bad luck as their car, driven by Ye Yifei, stopped with 3 minutes to go… what a pity! However, good job to all the boys and the girls! And the winner is… KAMUI KOBAYASHI, the “little samurai”!!!

P.S.: yesterday one of my favourite racing drivers ever, Miloš Pavlović, married his girlfriend Matilde. I wish them all the best!

4 HOURS OF MONZA - WAITING 4TH THE MATCH…

Buonasera! Are you excited for UEFA Euro 2020 finals? Do you support Italy or England?But… wait a moment. We are here to talk about Lou’s race in Monza! The WRT crew composed of Lou, Ye Yifei and Robert Kubica ended the race in 4th position, and I’m really happy for them. I also would like to mention the Indonesian-Malaysian duo composed by Sean Gelael and Jazeman Jaafar, which did it to the lowest step of the podium! 

And the winner is… or better, the winners are… Canal, Stevens and Allen of Panis Racing!

P.S.: it’s not a surprise, but due to this f*cking pandemic, the WEC race in Fuji has been cancelled. What a pity for Lou, he had last been to Japan back in 2012 and he was itching to come back, also to do some manga shopping with Sean 😜

8 HOURS OF PORTIMÃO - GREEN & YELLOW VIBES

This weekend Lou experienced for the first time a WEC race: the 8 Hours of Portimão! He looked so good in his green & yellow InterEuropol racing suit… his weekend started with a P6 in qualifications. Not bad, for a rookie!

And the race was not bad too, as he ended in P8. As a Japan lover, I’m really happy about the two Toyotas in the first two positions! In the end, I wanna give a special mention to Sean Gelael aka Mr KFC: he conquered the 5th place. I’m very fond of Sean Gelael because in my fanfiction “Between Louis and the Sea” he had a crush on me and was my suitor, do you remember? Have you read this fanfiction?

4 HOURS OF PAUL RICARD - DEFEATED BUT STILL LEADERS

Good evening! How are you? I’m a bit uptight, tomorrow my summer exams session will begin… 

However, I will give you a little summary of Louis’ adventure in Paul Ricard. His race was actually very tough, at a certain point his crew and him were leading the race but in the end Full Course Yellow caused them bad luck. At least they ended in 5th position, they’re still leading the championship.

4 HOURS OF THE RED BULL RING - TWO IN A ROW

For my family and me these are not easy days. Luckily I have my passion for motorsport, which, as I often say, is always with me and always helped me to stay strong and go on despite the difficulties of life.

And Lou today made me the best gift he could ever make: his second won in ELMS. This time we were among the green Austrian hills, on the Red Bull Ring, between sun and rain.

Lou in the last 30 minutes was the protagonist of a wonderful battle against Franco Colapinto, crossed the finish line and the WRT crew conquered the race. There’s a good feeling between Lou, Robert and Yifei, and Vincent Vosse is a fantastic team boss! What a dream team 😊

24: A NUMBER, A LEGEND

On this day, 24 years ago, a little boy with blond hair and green eyes was born… and today he is a successful race car driver who makes his fans happy, and above all an amazing person who does his best to make the world a better place.

This morning I wished him happy birthday with a direct message on Instagram, he was so happy about it!

BTW, the number “24” recalls me of 24 Hours of Le Mans, to which Lou will take part in a few months. I wish him all the best!

4 HOURS OF BARCELONA - A START WITH A BANG!

Good evening! It’s with great joy that Vicky announces that Louis, at his first official appearance in ELMS… CONQUERED A STUNNING WIN!

He was the hero of the race, obviously without Robert and Yifei could not have done it 😉 Panis Racing could nothing in front of WRT’s supremacy! However, the race was not that easy… Lou had quite a chaotic start, but he managed to get closer to Roman Rusinov, to overtake him and to build a consistent gap against the other drivers.

Obviously I hope it’s just the first victory of a long series: Lou, Robert and Yifei deserve it! 

So… see you in Spielberg on May 16th! 

ELMS IS ELMS - THE PROLOGUE

Hey! I’m back on your screens! Sorry for my absence, but I’ve been busy with study and other stuff. 

In these days, Lou started his ELMS adventure with the Prologue on the Catalunya Circuit. Can you believe that he scored the best time? I don’t want to make untimely judgements, but I’m sure he will have a very good experience in this championship, which is one of my favourites ever: if you follow me on Instagram, you for sure remember my grid walks and my meetings with the drivers… 

So, see you on Sunday for the Barcelona 4 Hours! As always, I will comment every race on my silly little blog. 

LET’S ELMS!

After four seasons (not the kind of pizza) Lou decided to leave Formula 2. This year he will face a new challenge named ELMS, he will race on a LMP2 car prepared by Team WRT and shared with Robert Kubica and Ye Yifei. 

This championship visits the Monza Circuit too, it would be awesome to see it live! Please, dear Covid, go away as soon as you can, so that my friends and me could see Lou racing!

WHEN MY MOTORSPORT SIDE MEETS MY WEEABOO SIDE…

It’s time for a random thought about Lou… if he will race in Japanese Super Formula, there will be plenty of kawaii Japanese gadget based on him! I’m sure it would be amazing to have a Lou-shaped body pillow, or a “Lou-esque” action figure… but the best would be a manga or an anime about him!

Yes, this surely is the most useful post of this blog 😜

THREE YEARS WITH YOU

Today this little amateur blog is hitting its 3 years mark. I’m really proud about it and I’m glad to entertain you with Lou’s races and vicissitudes. I hope I was for you a solace during this difficult 2020.

I want to say you thanks for everything, for your readings, your support and your appreciations. I can’t wait to know what Lou is going to do in 2021… so that I can keep you updated about him and his career!
