ROUND #12, UAE, SPRINT RACE: FINAL MASQUERADE

"The light on the horizon

Was brighter yesterday
Shadows floating over
Skies begin to fade
You said it was forever
But then it slipped away
Standing at the end of
The Final Masquerade"
(Linkin Park, "Final Masquerade")
Good Sunday morning! This is the very last race of the season. The word "last" always carries with her a veil of melanchony, no matters what's the topic we're talking about.
We started with an aborted start as Prince Sean didn't stop correctly in his box and Handsome Sergio's car stalled.
Antonio the Squire overtook Roby Merhi, as a proud Italian it made me happy! Knight Louis began the race as 3rd, then he slipped back to 5th and 6th.
Artëm the Russian Cossack fought hard in order to pass Louis, but he failed. Our little big hero ended 6th with a time of 2:01.070. Not a bad way to end the season, but I admit it, I would have prefered him on the podium.
And the winner is... ANTONIOOOOO! In Italy we are all happy for his win!
I'm satisfied about this season, it was not perfect but Louis showed a great potential. He climbed the podium twice and had great battles. I'll be back to my blog on Wednesday to review Louis' test with Haas. He'll be with Pietro Fittipaldi, who was his teammate back in 2016.

ROUND #12, UAE, FEATURE RACE: ALL HAIL SIR GEORGE!

Good Saturday afternoon! Welcome to the first Abu Dhabi race!
The race started with a series of cars stalling on the starting grid, in particular Nicholas' DAMS, which was hit by Arjun, Raj's lookalike; luckily they emerged both unscathered. The Safety Car entered the track.
Alex the Thai Massager saw his title hopes vanish... I'm sorry for you, Alex, but at least I will see you in Formula E! And something epic happened: Sir George's brother-in-law took the lead of the race.
Louis was constantly 4th in the first part of the race, then he slipped back to 11th and climbed from 8th to 6th, where he ended the race with a time of 1:58.653. Tomorrow he'll start 3rd!
But the party is all for Sir George, who won the race and above all became the 2018 champion! Good job, Sir George! Next year we will see him racing for Williams by Robert Kubica's side.
See you tomorrow for the final act of this exciting championship, the first one covered by my blog, the first one of a long series!

ROUND #12, UAE, QUALIFICATIONS: LUCKY LOU

Good evening! Finally I'm at home after an adventurous journey on the train from Bergamo to Lecco. As I promised you, here I am with a review of qualifications.
The pole position belongs to the Champion-to-be, Sir George, who shares the first row with his brother-in-law, Quick Nyck aka The Flying Dutch.
Knight Louis is going to start from 6th position; he likes this track and he wants to do a good job in the land of his main sponsor, ADSS. Before I forget, I write his time: 1:50.038. Before him there is the Almond-Shaped-Eyed Prince Charming Jack, who for sure has a very big smile on his face.
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #12, UAE, FREE PRACTICE: MAY THE FINAL ACT START!

Salam from Abu Dhabi! Well... I wish I was in Abu Dhabi! Now I'm in Bergamo at university and from the window I can see a cloudy sky. And outside it's freezing! By the way, it's the first time I write an article from my smartphone.
Our hero Louis started in 4th position, while Antonio the squire was 1st.
While the session was going on, Louis started to lose positions. And after 15 minutes Antonio lost his leading position in advantage of Sir George.
After 20 minutes of session Louis climbed back to 9th position and then to 7th, where he remained until the end. And as tradition wants, here you have his time: 1:52.518!
I have to underline that this weekend Dan Ticktum makes his F2 debut with Arden.
See you this evening for the Qualifications!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, SPRINT RACE: SO MANY PLOT-TWISTS!

Доброе утро! Today, September 30th, is the 6th anniversary of my first kiss! As a racing junkie I'm so proud of the fact it happened in the Monza Circuit with my racing crush of the time, Santiago Urrutia, who in that period was racing in the now-defunct Formula Abarth and now has a career in IndyLights.
Okay, after the memories' corner, let's head into the Sprint Race. The race was just begun when the safety car was deployed due to a contact between Alessio and Nicholas. They both had to retire, so Lou gained two positions and went from 12th to 10th, and then confirmed himself 11th.
Louis and his squire Antonio decided to remain with slick tyres and were respectively 3rd and 1st, but Sir George overtook Antonio and Sergio and Alex overtook Louis.
And the winner is... SIR GEORGE! LouLou ended 13th with a time of 2:14.131.
The last race of the season will be held in Abu Dhabi late in November. But don't worry, the blog won't stop its activities! There is a big surprise to come... if you follow me on Instagram you know... ^___^ And I will post some interesting stuff too... Stay tuned!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, FEATURE RACE: A THAI MASSAGE FROM ALEX

Доброе весь guys, welcome to the Russian Feature Race.
Sean was pushed back in the pitlane as he failed to launch. Luca collided in the first lap and retired from the race. Louis had his pitstop during Lap 6... and then Sir Lando retired from the race due to the loss of a tyre during his pitstop, as happened to Eddie Irvine during the 1999 European Grand Prix!
This time was our Louis to be under investigation... he crossed the line at the pit entry! During Lap 12 he received a 10s penalty for this. For many time Louis was in the bottom of the group, then he climbed up until the 10th position but Tada-san overtook him. Louis' time? 2:01.949!
And the winner is... ALEX ALBON, the future Formula E driver! Or better, the Thai massager...
See you tomorrow morning for another exciting race with the F2 boys! Спокойной ночи!

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, QUALIFICATIONS: THE BROTHERS-IN-LAW'S BATTLE

Vicky is back in service to talk about these Russian qualifications. For most of the time Louis was steadily 8th, but in the very last part he fell to the 13th position and then to the 14th one, scoring a time of 1:48.105.
The pole position is in Nyck De Vries' hands, after an hard battle with his brother-in-law, in which Sir Lando took part too.
See you tomorrow for Race 1!

P.S.: For those who asked me, the title of the previous article is inspired by a song by Basshunter :-)

ROUND #11, RUSSIA, FREE PRACTICE: RUSSIAN PRIVET

Привет! Welcome to Sochi!
Russia is one of the countries I love most. I never visited it, but I'm deeply in love with its culture and literature. I've read almost all the novels by Tolstoj and Dostoevskij, and one of my early teenage's celebrity crushes was Vitalij Petrov. And during my high school years I fell in love with Russian boys so many times.
But we are here to talk about F2 free practice... First of all I'm sorry to announce that Roy won't attend the last two rounds of the season in Sochi and in Abu Dhabi due to his problems of panic attacks, of which he suffered also back in 2013 and 2014, when he was competing in FIA F3.
Our knight Louis, who for the Monza weekend was named Gigi and now comes back to his real name, started wonderfully, setting the early pace, but when the session went on he was constantly in the second part of the group. He juggled between 14th and 15th position and ended 15th with a time of 1:49.533. The best time belongs to Lando Norris, who will be a McLaren driver next year.
See you later for qualifications!

ROUND #10, ITALY, SPRINT RACE: UNHAPPY ENDING

Buongiorno ragazzi! Here we are to talk about the Sprint Race... Nyck de Vries fell into some troubles before the formation and was pushed back in the pitlane.
During Lap 4 Ralph and Sean collided; this contact is under investigation. Gigi, 5 laps before the end of the race, complained via radio about being too slow in straights. Nyck collided with Roy, who, 3 laps before the end, was forced to pit in order to change his front wing.
And the winner is... SIR GEORGE! And Gigi? He's 11th, with a time of 1:36.363. No points for him...
Buona domenica a tutti! See you in Sochi!

ROUND #10, ITALY, FEATURE RACE: SAMURAI POWER

Buon pomeriggio ragazzi! I'm here to talk you about the Feature Race of Monza.
I was so glad to see #JapanesePower in the first laps of the race, with Tada the Great Samurai leading the group. As you know, I'm a big fan of Japan and Japanese drivers!
Gigi pitstopped on Lap 7. In the first laps he was constantly in the back of the field, along with his two snack mates Jack and Roy. By the way, there were some technical troubles in Jack's pit stop... and Roy in the beginning climbed to P9.
Tada was the last driver to pit, but he remained the leader of the race until the end, when he took the win despite being bothered by his teammate, Artëm the Cossack! TORA TORA TORA! And Gigi? Well, he's only 14 with 1:36.360. Don't worry, baby! Tomorrow you'll improve!
See you tomorrow at 10:55 AM! Buona serata!

ROUND #10, ITALY, QUALIFICATIONS: THINGS ARE GETTING SERIOUS

Buon pomeriggio amici miei! Let's review together these F2 qualifications. Our fantastic Gigi is 10th with 1:32.407... not bad! In the races he will do his best to make me happy. It would be super if Gigi will win in Monza!
And Roy, who is a great lover of Italy and the Monza circuit too, is only 15th.  The pole position is for George Russell, the championship leader.
A domani!

ROUND #10: ITALY, FREE PRACTICE: GIGI'S STRANGE SESSION

Ciao a tutti ragazzi! This race is very important to me. Not only because I'm Italian, it's also because it's held close to my old home, in which I lived with my mother until 2002, before joining my dad in Abbadia Lariana, and in which my maternal grandparents still live. I remember that when the Grand Prix was underway, the wind used to bring the sound of engines to our open windows.
Only for this weekend, Louis will change his name to Gigi, as Gigi is an Italian hypocoristic for the name Luigi, the Italian version of Louis. Monza is his favourite circuit, he knows it very well. And after this long prologue, let's talk about the free practice session. Gigi did a good job for most of the time, he has always been among the first positions and topped the group for a while too! Unluckily he fell down to 16th position, but when finally he managed to climb the classification until 8th place, he fell down again to 13th. He ended with a time of 1:35.216. The best time of the session belongs to Sergio Sette Camara.
See you in some hours, I will talk you about the qualifications! Ciao!

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, SPRINT RACE: SPA IS ALWAYS TOUGH!

And the Spa Sprint Race goes to archive, too. The winner is the Italo-Canadian Nicholas Latifi, followed by Quick Nyck and Lando "Chuck" Norris.
King Louis had a sensible improvement, going from the 18th place in yesterday's race to the 13th place today. His time is 2:12.536.
His almond-shaped eyed friend Jack gains a point, as he arrived 10th. And the Israeli knight Roy Nissany is just behind Louis. By the way, Nissatraz is one of my favourite yaoi ships.
The next race weekend will be held in Monza, my home track! And on Wednesday evening I will attend the Nazionale Piloti charity match in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan. I will write a review for it too!
Bye bye! See you next week!

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, FEATURE RACE: UPS & DOWNS

Good afternoon. I'm relaxing on my bed in a rainy Saturday afternoon. Roy Nissany would call it "Shabbat"
What a race it has been! Louis had several ups and downs. He started 13th, went down to 19th position, and then he became 7th, then 10t, 17th... I was a bit creeped for this, as in Italy 17 is considered an unlucky number, even though I'm not so much superstitious... but the worst thing happened on lap 24, when Louis and his teammate Antonio had a collision... yes, you read correctly, a collision between teammates! However, this will be investigated by race direction. And Louis ended the race in the last position, 18th, with a time of 2:06.099.
If Louis was not so lucky, his snack mate can be happy for his 10th position, which means that he gains his first F2 point! Good job, Roy!
And Nyck De Vries is having a perfect weekend, because after being the best in FP and gaining the pole position... he takes a fantastic win!
Vicky comes back tomorrow for the second race! Have a nice Saturday evening!

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, QUALIFICATIONS: A LITTLE IMPROVEMENT

Now I'm ready to give you a review of qualifications.
Nyck de Vries took the pole position after being the fastest in free practices. It's a lucky weekend for him so far!
Louis qualified with the 9th time of 1:57.183, and I'm happy to see that Roy improved too: he went from 20th and last to 17th.
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race, which will be held on 16:55!

ROUND #9, BELGIUM, FREE PRACTICES: LET'S HEAD BACK

Salut à tous! The blog's activities are finally back. If you follow me on Instagram, you surely have seen my holiday pics all around the former Austro-Hungarian Empire... but now it's over with historical landmarks and let's head back to the present.
There's someone new among the drivers: Dorian Boccolacci, who takes Roberto Merhi's place at MP Motorsport.
The best time in free practice has been set by Nyck De Vries, Louis is only 13th with 1:59.448 and 16 laps under his belt. Roy is still the last one of the group, I'm sorry for him.
À bientôt! See you later for qualifications!

ROUND #8, HUNGARY, SPRINT RACE: THE HERO OF BUDAPEST

Good afternoon! I write my review of the Sprint Race a bit late, because I've been eating out with my family. I managed to see a piece of the race in a shopping center.
As I predicted, LouLou went from 17th to 9th; for sure he is the Driver of the Day! And, as usual, I write his time: 1:34.435.
And the winner is... ALEX ALBON, THE THAI MASSAGER! My inner Italian is happy for the second place obtained by Luca Ghiotto...
And now there will be some weeks of summer break. On August 4th I'm leaving for Linz, and then I will visit Wien, Bratislava and Budapest. I hope it will be a pleasant holiday. I don't know where Louis will go...
And after the break it will be time for Spa-Francorchamps... the legendary Spa... and then... surprise! Stay tuned!
Vicky

ROUND #8, HUNGARY, FEATURE RACE: LOUIS IS 17TH AND NYCK TAKES THE WIN

Good afternoon! In Abbadia Lariana the weather is rainy. In Italy, the number 17 is considered an unlucky number, so you can imagine that I laughed when I saw that Louis ended his race in 17th position. His time: 1:32.972. But at least Roy had a better position than Louis' one on his "home" track. My hero had some damages on his car and spent a lot of time in the pits. Your luck will be better tomorrow, baby!
Nyck won the race, and his brother-in-law, Sir George, failed to race due to engine troubles.
Tomorrow I will write my article about the Sprint Race late in the afternoon, because I will eat out with my parents.
See ya!

ROUND #8, HUNGARY, QUALIFICATIONS - PLOT-TWIST

Vicky is back.
My grandma would be so happy to know that the handsome Sergio Sette Camara made it to pole position. Firstly I thought that the first place on the grid would have been for Jack, the Anglo-Korean Prince, but there was this plot twist...
Knight Louis is 10th, with a time of 1:28.032. Do you bet tomorrow he will overtake all the other drivers and will make it to the podium?
Roy, Louis' break mate, who resides in Budapest, is only 16th.
See you tomorrow for the Feature Race!

ROUND #8, HUNGARY, FREE PRACTICE: LOUIS LEADER... IN THE BEGINNING

Good afternoon guys! Welcome to the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, the "home" Grand Prix for Roy Nissany, Louis' "snack mate".
The practice session has been stopped due to Tadasuke "Samurai" Makino's crash; the best time was scored by Sir George.
At the beginning Arjun "Mahraja" Maini was the leader on the track, but Knight Louis took his place, and then ended in 13th position with a time of 1:29.862.
See you later for qualifications!
